How To Access My UNC Chart Login Portal
Lots of improvements have been made to the UNC Health MyChart experience in a number of areas, such as enhanced treatment options, streamlined pharmaceutical refills, and online appointment scheduling that eliminates the need to call in. Using MyChart messages for non-urgent situations is one of the key changes, along with others.
Are You A New Patient? Below the patient portal login form, click the “Use The Activation Code” option. There will be a screen to sign up. During your visit to the health office, you have the option to register using an unused activation code OR click on ”Sign Up For UNC Chart” and register by filling the enrollment form using your email address and other personal information.

Step 2: Enter your UNC health MyChart Username into the provided space.
Step 3: Enter your security password. Remember your password is case sensitive, be sure to enter it as entered when you activated it.
Step 4: Click on “Sign In” button. I recommend you check your entered login credentials again before hitting the Sign In button.
Step 5: Access your MyChart account. Finally you should be able to view and manage all activities present in your UNC health MyChart account.

Manage your family accounts to schedule appointments, see test results and provider notes, and check in to appointments with the mobile MyChart app. Here’s what you should know using MyChart App for My UNC Health account.
- The MyChart app uses your phone’s location to notify the front desk staff when you have arrived for an appointment. You will need to allow MyChart to access your location either by clicking “allow” through the pop-up display or by going to your app settings and selecting “Always” for the location access option.
- You will also need to turn on the Appointments Arrival toggle and Notifications in the MyChart mobile app settings. You only have to turn these settings on once, during the initial set up.

When you need help organizing your visits and other medical needs, you may also wish to give a friend or family member access to your medical records. Give someone access to your medical record by sending them a proxy invite using My UNC Chart’s Friends and Family Access page.
